Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why pause? Because it's peaceful and relaxing. See our About page for full information. 2. How do I pause? Just sit (or stand or lie) quietly, with your eyes open or closed. See our About page for full information. 3. When do I pause? At 1:05 pm (13:05) every afternoon. 4. Why pause at a certain time? And why 1:05 (13:05)? So that you will pause in synch with others. See our About page for full information. 5. Can I pause at a different time? Yes. Whenever it is convenient. 1:05 is best because you will be in synch with others in your Time Zone. If you cannot do it at that time, try to do it within five or ten minutes of that time. If not, do it at another time at five minutes past the hour (example: 11:05, 2:05 or 7:05.) That way you will be in synch with Pausers in another Time Zone. 6. How long do I pause? Five minutes is the recommended time, but you can certainly do it longer if you wish. 7. How do I find out my Time Zone? Go to our Settings page. You can also see more on Time Zones at our Worldwide page. 8. What is a Pause Pal? A Pause Pal is someone you "pause with." You will be pausing at the same time. You may have a large group of Pause Pals and pause with some all the time, others occasionally, and still others are Pause Pals just because you want to keep in contact with them. For more information, see our Pause Pals page. 9. What is the purpose of a Report? Your report (you can send it manually or automatically) lets us know each time you have paused, for how long, and what type of background sounds (or silence) you chose. If you prefer, you can submit your report anonymously. See our Report page for more information. 10. Can I see my Reports? Yes, you can see yours, those of your Pause Pals, and statistics from reports of Pausers worldwide. They are all on our Past Pauses page. 11. How do I join The 1:05 Pause? Visit our Join/Log In page. You can sign up immediately. |
